This is an easy recipe of shorba that our grand mothers and mothers usually made in the old indian style..It does not require too much spices and tastes is good…they used coriander powder for good taste…
Chicken shorba (for 6 persons)
Chicken 750 gms(cut into pieces)
oil 4 tbsp
Onions 4 (sliced)
Ginger paste 2 tbsp
Garlic paste 2 tbsp
Red chili powder 1 teaspoon
Turmeric powder ½ tsp
Coriander powder roasted 1 n 1/2 tsp
Salt 1 teaspoon
Cinnamon sticks 3
Green cardamom 4
cumin 1 tsp
Ripe tomatoes 3
Heat oil in a pot.
Add sliced onion, fry till they are lightly brown.take it out from oil.Then add whole (spices)garam masala in oil.Now
Add in ginger paste and garlic paste, fry again till it releases aroma.
Then add chicken, fry nicely till the oil starts to float.
Grind fried onion and tomatoes..
Now mix well grinded mixture in chicken.
Mix in salt,coriander powder, red chili powder, turmeric and fry well.
Add 2 cups of hot water and Simmer on low flame till the oil starts to float.
Serve with chapati..
