Dried plums 1 cup (washed and soaked in 1 cup of water)
Sugar 1 cup
Salt 1/4 tsp
Black pepper powder 1/4 tsp
Cardamom powder 1/4 tsp
Red chilli powder 1/2 tsp
Put dried plums into a sauce pan with the same water in which it was soaked,
Add all the ingredients, and stir well. Bring slowly to the boil, then reduce the heat and simmer until the plums are tender.Boil the chutney for 20-30 mins, uncovered, stirring occasionally to prevent it catching on the bottom, until it is thick and pulpy.Add 1 tbsp white vinegar, stir well and turn off the flame.
