Aaloo tahiri

Ingredients

Rice 3 cup (cleaned & soaked)

Oil 4tbsp

Black cardamom 1 pod

Whole black pepper 3-4

Cumin seeds 1 tsp

Cloves 4

Cinnamon 1 stick

Onion 1 (sliced)

Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp

Potato 3 (cubed)

Red chili powder 1-1/2 tsp

Turmeric powder 2 tsp

Yogurt 3 tbsp

Tomatoes 2 big size fine chopped

Salt 2 teaspoon

Cooking Directions

Heat oil in a pot, Add onion and fry until light brown.
add black cardamom, whole black pepper, cumin seeds, cloves, cinnamon ; sizzle it.

Now put in ,ginger garlic paste,potato ,tomatoes and yogurt and sauté over medium heat for 5-7 minutes.
Add turmeric, chili powder, and salt and stir.


Add rice and  3 cups hot water and mix again. Water level should cover whole rice and potatoes..see in pic.

 When it comes to a boil, and reduce some water then stir and reduce heat to low, cover the pan with a lid and cook for 15-20 minutes or until the rice is done.


Serve hot.
